Andrew Bowie MP has been appointed to serve as Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland in Kemi Badenoch's new Shadow Cabinet. Andrew, who supported the new Leader of the Opposition during the Conservative Party Leadership contest, also retains his brief within the Shadow Energy and Net Zero team.
"I am honoured to serve in the Conservative shadow cabinet at a crucially important time for the party, for Scotland and the UK. I believe that Kemi will lead the renewal of party that is needed as we seek to win back the trust of the British people.
I look forward to continuing to hold the Labour UK Government to account when it comes to Scotland and to energy policies, which are inextricably linked."
The appointment comes as Kemi Badenoch forms her new front bench team following her election as leader of the Conservative Party.
