As you may be aware the official submission deadline for the Kintore to Tealing OHL has now passed. However, please keep sending in your comments as Gillian Martin may still consider representations beyond the deadline.
The response has been, put simply, overwhelming and outstanding. I have been copied into well over 4000 emails objecting to proposals and my office has helped organise further submissions by email and post. I know there have been thousands more objections along the whole length of the proposed route.
Thank you for making your voice heard and standing up for your community. It is important and it does matter. Thanks must also go to the various groups who have organised so much of this objection process, Deeside Against Pylons, Save our Mearns and the litany of fantastic community councils which have united in coordinated opposition to these measures.
This whole project since its inception has been disorganised and against residents wishes, with SSEN hoping to capitalise on apathy and disinterest to force mega pylons down Deeside and the Mearns.
Your contributions, not only through this round of consultation but throughout the entire process has been stalwart and have proved that SSEN can't ride roughshod over our corner of the country.
I will continue to raise this issue nationally and will be making further representations to Gillian Martin who will be making the final decision on these proposals.
My colleague in the Scottish Parliament Douglas Lumsden has an ongoing petition targeting Gillian Martin's disgraceful decision not to meet campaigners, I would encourage you to sign it and show the strength of feeling across the North East.
You can sign Douglas' letter here.
