SSEN have announced that they are now exploring alternative potential sites for their proposed new substation around the Fiddes area of the Mearns.

Following their announcement Andrew said:

Andrew has expressed his disappointment that Stagecoach have made further cuts to services in West Aberdeenshire & Kincardine. This follows the Scottish Government ending the Network Support Grant on the 31st March.

Yesterday Andrew wrote to councillors from all parties in the wards affected by SSEN's East Coast 400kV powerline and substation proposals.

SSEN Transmission has extended the consultation period for their proposed new electricity infrastructure between Kintore and Tealing until Friday 28th July to allow more time for those interested in the project to share their views.

Many of constituents may be aware that Bank of Scotland are planning to close their branches in Braemar and Ballater. 

On Friday the 9th of June Andrew Bowie MP and Mairi Gougeon MSP met with senior SSEN representatives to discuss their proposals to construct new overhead powerlines and a substation in Aberdeenshire.

Today the Treasury announced that a floor price will be introduced to the Energy Profits Levy on North Sea oil and gas production. This will see the tax rate levied on the industry fall back to 40% when prices consistently return to normal levels for a sustained period.

Andrew Bowie expressed his utmost delight as Aberdeenshire Council officially adopted Stuart Crescent, a road in Kemnay, within the Constituency. This milestone comes after years of relentless campaigning by Andrew on behalf of residents.
